A Message from Charles Creasman, M.D.
I am from a family of medical professionals. My dad was a Pediatrician, my brother is an Internist, my Mom was a nurse and my cousin is an ophthalmologist. I'm not exactly sure how I decided to become a doctor, but I guess it's in my genes.

I grew up in Arizona. I spent 11 years away training to be an orthopedic surgeon and came home to start practicing medicine. I went to medical school thinking I'd be an internist. Towards the end of medical school, I took some orthopedic classes. During my rotations, I met a lot of orthopedic surgeons. Compared to other doctors, orthopods seemed so happy and gregarious. I wanted to see what made them that way and I quickly switched one of my rotations to orthopedics

Orthopedics is an ever-changing field. It tends to get broader as we devise new ways to treat orthopedic injuries. That evolving technology has always been attractive to me. I also find the field to be concrete, tactile and mechanical - all words I can get my head around. It's like the indescribable pleasure of fitting a jigsaw puzzle together. There is great gratification in fitting the pieces back together.

I enjoy working on all age groups and many different body parts. I like that my patients come to me with isolated problem that I can fix and then they can go on with their lives. My best patients are those that are motivated to get better and grateful to me for getting better. That's why I went into medicine in the first place.
