A Message from Keith Braun, M.D.
I went to college to be a physical education teacher but my (then future) mother in law thought pre-med would be a better major for me. She didn't want me to waste my college career playing basketball. The idea grew on me and I applied to several medical schools. Unfortunately, my undergraduate college was relatively unknown at the time, and I couldn't even get an interview. But now I had my heart set on being a doctor, so I went to Arizona State University for a graduate degree in microbiology. After that, University of Arizona agreed to interview me and I was accepted to med school. My next hurdle came in choosing a specialty. After three clinical rotations, I was starting to think I didn't want to be a doctor after all. Finally, I rotated through orthopedics and I was home. I like working with tools. I like home improvement and fixing things. I'm the Tim Allen of medicine.

I think a lot has been lost in medicine since I started practicing. In my office, you will still experience the personal touches of old school medicine along with up-to-date knowledge and surgical technology. You will always see a doctor in my office. When you call our office during business hours, you will talk to a person. I don't ask other doctors to round on my patients in the hospital - I do that myself. I call every patient with your MRI or lab results and I won't ask you to make an appointment to get those results unless you want to. As my patient, I will respect your time and financial resources. I become friends with my patients and will be by your side during the entire process as your advocate. I'm OK with my patients calling me Keith, not "Doctor".

Our office is one with a Mission. Every other year, I spend six weeks in Africa treating people who are underserved. My staff and my associate, Dr. Greg Stewart, are very supportive of these trips. I enjoy what I do. I look forward to meeting you.
