I'm not really sure how I decided that I was going to be doctor. I was a smart kid and good in science. Once I got to medical school, I chose orthopedic surgery because there is immediate gratification in seeing the patients get better. I enjoy working with sports-related injuries because those patients seem to be more motivated to get better. I did my sports medicine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital where I treated the Harvard sports teams and the Boston Celtics. That experience has helped me tremendously in my current practice. I currently spend a day a week at the V.A. hospital and enjoy working with those patients as well. That is probably because they are so thankful for the care they receive. I enjoy working with all of my patients and the daily challenges that this profession provides.
