My father was a GI doctor and I dreamed of being a doctor for as long as I can remember. I chose orthopedics because people get better. The things we do in orthopedics are important but typically not life or death. My patients are motivated to get well -the athletes are anxious to get back to sports and my workers' compensation patients (and their employers) want them to get back to work as efficiently and safely as possible. I also enjoy the innovation and technology that orthopedics provides. As medicine evolves, the methodology makes everything easier on the patient and therefore easier on us. I am constantly trying to maximize my skill level and learn whatever is new to learn. In 2010, I received my subspecialty certification in sports medicine. If there's a new test, I'll take it.

I consider my practice to employ a teamwork approach. My patients, the physical therapist and I work to get each patient where he/she wants to be. Every day is a very good day in my practice. I especially enjoy those in which I can see a patient whom I've treated who is functioning better and without pain.
