Patient Stories - OSNA | osna.md

Every patient seen by OSNA physicians is treated as an individual.  Although we treat their knees and backs, we don’t view patients as body parts, but as human beings with much to contribute to their care.  We listen to them during treatment and we value the stories of their experience with us. Some of our patients have been generous enough to share their stories with us – and let us share their stories with you. As you read them, we hope that you will get a sense of both the expertise that we bring and the relationships that we build.  We hope that we might have the privilege of adding your story someday.

“I knew...that I couldn’t just put a band-aid on this”.

Todd goes to school at Florida Gulf Coast University. While cutting back trees for his Mom in Florida, Todd sliced open his left forearm with a machete. “I knew when I saw white that it was probably bone and that I couldn’t just put a band-aid on this”.

"My advice to anyone suffering from hip pain is not to wait."

Tim suffered every day from extreme pain in his right hip. He limped for a long time, trying pain-blocking injections before finally giving in to the fact that he needed a new hip. Tim chose his OSNA doctor after interviewing various doctors.

"I felt fully confident in him the first time I met him."

Barbara broke her patella (knee cap) 30 years ago. It was repaired twice within a week upon the initial injury with wires around the patella and twisted on both sides. Those wires were cutting through her tissue and doing a lot of damage to her leg.

"He was very concerned...and gentle in explaining what would happen next.”

Darlene has struggled with scoliosis her whole life. She suffered from extreme lower back pain for several years. She tried seeing a Pain Management doctor to alleviate her pain. That doctor tried pain medication, epidural blocks and physical therapy.
