Darlene, 46, Phoenix Back Pain and Lumbar Fusion

Darlene has struggled with scoliosis her whole life. She suffered from extreme lower back pain for several years. She tried seeing a Pain Management doctor to alleviate her pain. That doctor tried pain medication, epidural blocks and physical therapy. Nothing would give her long-term relief. Finally, she was referred to her OSNA doctor by her pain doctor. “In our very first meeting, he was very concerned, personable and gentle in explaining what would happen next.”  During that first visit, Darlene and her doctor agreed that she needed surgery (anterior lumbar fusion) and decided to schedule it in a month so that she could get some things in order first.

After her surgery, she was in the hospital and inpatient rehab for a month. “My (OSNA) doctor checked in on me on a regular basis”. She followed that with 6 weeks of outpatient physical therapy.  During that time, she saw an OSNA Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation doctor.

“We built a very strong rapport. We laughed together. She gave me so much of her time. We became friends in the process. I would like to thank the entire staff of my OSNA office. From checking in, the phone call reminders and all of my visits, everyone was very caring. I was more than satisfied with my experience and I am thankful that I was sent to this office.” Darlene is happy to report that she is 100% pain free for the first time since she can remember.
